A pilot and two passengers were on board when the small aircraft fell into a building full of people in Chrcynno, some 50 km north of the capital Warsaw, shortly after 7:30 p.m., rescuers told reporters.

The pilot and four other people died on the spot, police said, adding that two of the injured were "in a serious condition."

More than 10 people were in the hangar at the time of the accident and two were initially declared missing, according to a spokesman for local firefighters.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known, but weather may have been a contributing factor, state news agency PAP reported.
