Polish PM says Russian hackers targeted his party's websites ahead of election

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Friday that Russian hackers launched a cyberattack on his Civic Platform party’s websites just two days before Poland's presidential election.

He added that the attackers also targeted websites belonging to allied political groups, and that Polish cybersecurity services were actively responding.

“The attack is still ongoing,” Tusk wrote on X, adding that the group behind it is active on the messaging platform Telegram.

European leaders meet in Albania for unity talks

On Friday, Tusk, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer gathered in Tirana, Albania, for the 6th European Political Community (EPC) Summit.

The high-level meeting aims to strengthen unity and cooperation across the continent under the theme: "A new Europe in a new world: unity - cooperation - joint action."
