UPDATE: PM Tusk holds live video call with Polish astronaut aboard ISS
Uznański-Wiśniewski will engage hundreds of students in a live educational session from the International Space Station (ISS).
Broadcasting from the ISS, he will conduct three microgravity experiments designed by young participants in the national contest “Simple Experiment – Cosmic Discovery,” organised by POLSA.
At 1:15 p.m. CEST, Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski will connect live from the International Space Station to lead educational experiments with students across Poland at the EC1 complex in Łódź.
This event will kick off a series of nationwide sessions, featuring live links with young people from Wrocław in the southwest of Poland (scheduled for Friday, July 4), as well as Rzeszów in the southeast and Warsaw in central Poland.
During the event, the students who created the experiments will have the opportunity to ask Uznański-Wiśniewski questions directly, fostering a unique dialogue between space and Earth.
Visitors to the EC1 complex will also be able to watch the live broadcast on a special screen, bringing the experience to a broader audience.
The live broadcast from space can be watched in the video below.
Earth through the astronaut’s lens
Sharing new images from space, the Polish astronaut highlighted the vital role of the International Space Station in monitoring the Earth’s environment.
Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski explained that astronauts capture not only the planet’s beauty but also track changes in oceans, ice coverage, the atmosphere, and urban development.
These photographs and data are crucial for scientists on Earth studying climate change, air pollution, and the effects of natural disasters.
