According to Polish foreign ministry spokesman Paweł Wroński, the talks are expected to cover key aspects of bilateral cooperation between Warsaw and Kyiv.

Discussions will focus on continued Polish support for Ukraine amid the ongoing war with Russia, as well as the situation of Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

"The two ministers are expected to address important issues, including humanitarian assistance, refugee policy and further coordination between our governments," Wroński said.

“The more meetings like this we have - where Poland’s commitment to supporting Ukraine is clearly reaffirmed - the better,” he added.

Diplomatic retreat in Chobielin

The setting for the meeting - Sikorski’s private estate in Chobielin - was chosen to foster a more candid and informal exchange. Wroński said such surroundings provide an “ideal atmosphere” for this type of strategic dialogue.

Sikorski and Sybiha last met in mid-July during the fifth anniversary of the Lublin Triangle, a regional alliance between Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania.

The Chobielin manor has previously served as a discreet venue for high-level diplomacy. In July last year, Sikorski hosted UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy there in what was Lammy’s first official visit abroad following his appointment.

Sybiha, a veteran Ukrainian diplomat, assumed the post of foreign minister in September 2024, succeeding Dmytro Kuleba, who had held the role since 2020.
