Polish and German Air Force inspectors met in Mińsk Mazowiecki

Polish and German Air Force inspectors convened at the 23rd Tactical Air Base in Mińsk Mazowiecki, east-central Poland, on 21 August 2025.

Attendees included Holger Neumann, Chief of the German Air Force, and Major General Ireneusz Nowak, Polish Air Force Inspector.

Since the first week of August, a planned several-week operation has been underway at the base, involving 150 German soldiers.

As part of the deployment, Germany’s Luftwaffe has sent five Eurofighter EF-2000 Typhoon jets to Poland to support Polish air defence in line with NATO’s collective defence of the alliance’s eastern flank.

German diplomats described the deployment as a demonstration of NATO solidarity, providing a credible deterrent and strengthening the protection of NATO airspace.

Polish military authorities said the operation is another example of allied cooperation and a tangible commitment to ensuring security in Central and Eastern Europe.

Mińsk Mazowiecki is located roughly 50 km (31 miles) northeast of Warsaw.
