"Anyone who violates Poland’s airspace must expect an immediate reaction by the Polish armed forces," Tusk told reporters at a news conference on Friday in Łomża, about 150 km northeast of Warsaw.

He warned that provocations could carry "very serious consequences," including what he called "kinetic action," a military term for the use of force.

Tusk said he discussed recent airspace incidents with Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

"We are acting cautiously and without emotion to avoid harm," he said. "But Poland will respond very decisively to such provocations."

His remarks came a day after Poland’s top military commander, Gen. Wiesław Kukuła, said drones twice violated Polish airspace on Wednesday night as Russia carried out missile and drone strikes on neighbouring Ukraine.

Over the weekend, two more incursions were reported.

On Sunday night, debris from an unidentified flying object was discovered in a cornfield in the village of Polatycze near the Belarus border crossing at Terespol, authorities said.

Separately, on Saturday in the village of Majdan-Sielec, about 50 km from the Ukrainian border, authorities found the remains of a drone "bearing no military features," most likely used for smuggling, defence ministry spokesman Janusz Sejmej said.
