Minister Siemoniak highlights Sikorski’s strong message to Russia at the UN
Siemoniak praised Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski’s warning to Russia at the UN Security Council, calling it a clear and impactful message that was positively received in the United States. He noted that while some politicians are critical of Sikorski, his statements reflect the position of the majority of Poles.
The minister also defended NATO’s response to Russian provocations, stressing that protecting borders and critical infrastructure from drones is a routine part of alliance operations. He cited the swift reaction to incursions over Polish airspace and the launch of Operation Eastern Sentry as examples of NATO’s effectiveness.
Polish intelligence agency to review official’s access at top security meeting
In a separate matter, Siemoniak confirmed that the Internal Security Agency (ABW) will investigate why presidential minister Sławomir Cenckiewicz attended a classified National Security Council meeting despite not having formal clearance.
ABW, responsible for protecting state secrets, has requested information from the department handling classified materials regarding Cenckiewicz’s attendance.
Cenckiewicz, appointed by President Nawrocki as head of the National Security Bureau, had his security clearance revoked by the Military Counterintelligence Service in 2024, a decision that has since been challenged in court.
Siemoniak emphasized that no classified information was disclosed during the meeting, but Cenckiewicz’s presence nonetheless breached security rules.
