The command said the Polish military was not conducting exercises in the Świętokrzyskie province on Nov. 4.

A search-and-rescue helicopter from the Airborne Search and Rescue Team was dispatched after a report from the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency of a suspected aviation incident in the area.

Nearly two and a half hours of aerial checks did not confirm any incident, the command said. Firefighters and police also operated at the designated site.

“No crashed aircraft was found,” it added, noting that relevant services were continuing to clarify the reports.

Witnesses across Poland reported orange lights visible for several seconds on Tuesday evening, with the earliest reports coming from Świętokrzyskie.

Similar observations later appeared from Mazowsze, Silesia, Podkarpacie and Greater Poland, with residents describing points of light forming various patterns between about 16:50 and 19:30.

Social media carried numerous photos of the lights.
