The remnants were found far from residential areas and there was no contraband next to the drone, according to officials.
The case was reported to the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW), Polish state news agency PAP reported.
At 1 p.m. on Sunday, a man taking a walk through the forest in the village of Żelizna spotted parts of an object that resembled a drone.
Police officers found a collapsed drone, a styrofoam case and an engine.
"It looks like this isn't a smuggling drone. No contraband was found," said Anna Kamola, a spokeswoman for police in the Lubelskie region.
She added the remains were found "deep in the woods, far from residential buildings."
Police officers notified the prosecution office, ABW and SKW about the finding.
The case will be referred to the regional prosecution office in Lublin for further investigation, officials told reporters.
In September, more than 20 unmanned aerial vehicles breached Polish airspace during a Russian airstrike on Ukraine. Some of these drones were shot down by Polish and allied aircraft.
