Poles in Iran safe after strike: PM

Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Saturday that Polish citizens — including staff at Poland’s embassy in Tehran — are safe.

He was citing briefings from the defence and foreign ministries following strikes on Iran by Israel and the United States.

“We are prepared for various scenarios,” Tusk wrote on platform X, adding that unity among Poles on security issues is “particularly important” at this moment.

The consular section of Poland’s embassy in Israel remains closed to visitors until further notice.

On Saturday morning, Israel and the United States carried out airstrikes on targets in Iran.

Tehran is now preparing retaliation, which Iranian authorities say will be “crushing.”
