Kosiniak-Kamysz is scheduled to meet Canadian Defence Minister David McGuinty in Ottawa on Tuesday.
The two ministers are also expected to attend the Canadian Defence Industry Forum and visit the CanSec defence trade fair.
The visit comes days after the European Parliament approved Canada’s participation in the EU’s SAFE programme, allowing European countries to jointly carry out defence procurement projects with Canada using programme funding.
The Polish government's representative for the SAFE programme, Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, told reporters on Monday that Canada was interested in purchasing drones from Poland's defence industry.
Kosiniak-Kamysz said Poland intended to fully use available SAFE funds, either through national procurement or joint purchases with allied countries.
"We encourage purchases from the Polish defence industry, and Canada buying Polish military equipment is phenomenal news,” he told a news conference before the visit.
Kosiniak-Kamysz said one of the goals of his visit is to encourage greater Canadian engagement in European security.
Canada already contributes to NATO’s eastern flank and serves as the framework nation for a NATO brigade in Latvia that includes Polish troops.
On Wednesday, Kosiniak-Kamysz is due to attend the CanSec defence exhibition in Ottawa, where he will visit booths operated by major Canadian defence and technology firms, including CAE, Bombardier and MDA Space, according to the Polish defence ministry.
The Polish delegation also includes Sobkowiak-Czarnecka and Deputy State Assets Minister Konrad Gołota.
CanSec, Canada's largest defence industry event, is expected to attract around 300 companies this year.
Poland has been designated the event’s "spotlight nation," giving special prominence to Polish defence firms, including both state-owned and private companies.
Poland and Canada have expanded defence cooperation in recent years.
After a meeting between Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney last August, the two countries signed a bilateral defence cooperation plan and created a joint working group on the defence industry.
Officials from both countries met again in Ottawa in April to discuss cooperation in trade, investment, energy and defence.
