Preparations move forward for permanent US military base in Poland

Plans for a permanent US military base in Poland are moving forward, according to media reports, amid broad political support for strengthening deterrence against Russia.

The long-term project could cost Poland more than USD 3 billion in infrastructure and logistics investment, the Wirtualna Polska news website has reported.

It said US officials are considering locations near the southwestern city of Wrocław and the western city of Poznań because of their major airports and transport links.
