Addressing the soldiers participating in Poland's Armed Forces Day military parade in Warsaw, as well as the gathered public, President Karol Nawrocki said on Saturday that he "stands before them as the President of Poland and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, but above all - as a proud citizen of the Republic of Poland, and representative of a nation that knows the price paid for independence and freedom, a nation that knows the price of wars".
Karol Nawrocki emphasized that August 15th is also a day of gratitude to today's soldiers of the Polish Army. "For me and all state authorities, it is a day of commitment, not only to the past, history, and memory, but also to the present and the future, to the safety of our children and grandchildren" - the president stressed in his speech, adding that "Poland is able to assess contemporary threats also thanks to its history".
