In his speech in the coastal city of Gdynia on the 106th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that it was one of the most important clashes in the history of not only his country but also the world.
"On this day, we shall always remember and pay tribute to all the heroes of our history. Not only of this battle, but also to the soldiers, pilots, and here in Gdynia, especially the sailors. Without their sacrifice, without their dedication, Poland would not be a free, sovereign state today"

In his speech, the Prime Minister also listed four pillars of Poland's security:
"They are secure and tight borders, real alliances and a wise foreign policy, significant investments in the army, and finally, a developing economy. We can already say that Poland is building a force that will determine the fate of the region through its modernity and numbers. The whole world appreciates this, and especially our allies".
- the head of the Polish government assessed, adding that the Polish economy is currently growing four times faster than the German one and five times faster than the French one, despite the difficult and very demanding geopolitical situation.
"We don't want any more battles, and if we do, we want them to be victorious. But we want to avoid war - and only those who are strong, well-prepared, truly independent, and sovereign will achieve this".

August 15th is the Polish Armed Forces Day, which also commemorates the victory in the 1920 Battle of Warsaw - the decisive battle of the Polish-Bolshevik War, which determined Poland's independence and put a stop to post-revolution Russia's westward expansion.
