The campaign, run by the city-owned water supply company Aquanet and called Kranówka Poznańska (Poznań Tap Water), is intended to encourage the restaurant industry to serve free tap water to customers.
"We wanted to create a brand that residents could identify with: modern, urban and authentic," said Katarzyna Bogucka, head of Aquanet's communications department.
"That is how the idea of Kranówka Poznańska was born. The slogan does not promote a product invented for the purposes of the campaign. It promotes something that has been a source of pride for Aquanet and Poznań for years: great tap water," she added.
Participating restaurants will receive small campaign-branded items, including napkins and carafes.
Restaurants serving free tap water will also be marked on a map available at kranowkapoznanska.pl.
Under Polish law, restaurants are not required to provide free tap water and can include it on the bill or decline to serve it.
