“Central Europe cannot be merely a recipient of decisions made by others”, Nawrocki told a joint news conference following the Visegrad Group summit in Trencin.
He said the four-nation V4 bloc and the Three Seas Initiative, whose members “have not made many mistakes in the European Union”, should share their experience and play a bigger role in the “common European family”.
Nawrocki said Brussels should not adopt policies that hurt the economy.
“We cannot accept solutions that weaken European industry, raise families’ living costs and limit companies’ opportunities for growth”, he said.
He added that EU climate and energy policy must take account of economic competitiveness and member states’ energy security.
Nawrocki acknowledged that Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary “do not have to hold identical positions on all issues”, but said they share views on fundamental economic, infrastructure and energy interests.
