Latvia hails plan for extra US troops in Poland

The Latvian leader welcomed the impending expansion of the US troop contingent in Poland, hailing the plan as “good news” for Baltic states. 

“Each new American soldier in the Baltic Sea area, in Poland, and on NATO's eastern flank in general, strengthens the security of the entire region,” Levits said.

“We are happy and we congratulate Poland,” he added.
