Poland exempted from EU's new climate neutrality targets

EU member states on Thursday adopted new climate neutrality targets.

During a summit in Brussels, the bloc's leaders agreed to increase efforts to make the EU carbon neutral by 2050.

However, Poland was exempted from the commitment, after arguing that its transition to green energy will take longer because coal comprises a large part of the country's energy mix.
