In a letter posted on the presidential chancellery's website on Saturday, Duda wished the American nation the best of luck and prosperity. “Poland and the United States are bound by ties of centuries-long friendship and brotherhood, further strengthened over the last four years as evidenced by the content and intense calendar of the meetings between the presidents of the two countries,” Duda noted.

“2020 is a special year for the two nations as they are set to elect their presidents,”  Duda wrote, wishing Trump perseverance in running his presidential campaign.

Meanwhile,  US Ambassador to  Poland Georgette Mosbacher posted her Independence Day Message on the Embassy’s website. She noted that Poland and America “enjoy one of the world’s strongest and most enduring friendships.”  Referring to last week’s Duda-Trump talks in Washington,  Mosbacher wrote that “ the visit underscored that we stand together in doing all that we can to bring prosperity to the lives of our citizens… just as we have stood together during earlier wars, we stand together today in the fight against the coronavirus.”

She also said she was extremely proud that Poland had joined the visa waiver program that ensures people-to-people ties remain strong.

Americans celebrate Independence Day on July 4, with 2020 marking the 244th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
