He was speaking after a meeting in Warsaw with his visiting Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar.

"We have agreed to conduct more joint exercises between Polish and Turkish soldiers, and we expect that training relations between Polish and Turkish troops will intensify," Błaszczak said.

He added that Poland was keen to strengthen bilateral military cooperation.

"We are interested in such cooperation, and we are interested in the joint development of defence technology and in exchanging experience when it comes to military equipment," he declared.

Polish President Andrzej Duda in May discussed security challenges and business opportunities with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during a visit to Ankara.

At the time, the two countries signed a deal under which Poland undertook to buy 24 armed drones from Turkey.
