The Ukrainian armed forces are putting up “worthy resistance,” defence officials emphasised, adding that Russian attacks were being repulsed throughout the country, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
The Russian army has been compelled to send for reinforcements from outside Ukraine, Kyiv’s defence ministry said.
The Ukrainian officials added that Belarus continued to aid the Russian army by facilitating fuel supplies and making available its railway infrastructure and airports.
Meanwhile, the invading forces continue with their plans to encircle the capital Kyiv and attack the cities of Izyum, Sumy and Okhtyrka, among other targets, Ukraine’s defence ministry stated.
Thursday is day fifteen of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24.
