Poland’s military aid to Ukraine exceeds EUR 1.8 billion: gov’t official

Poland's military assistance to war-torn Ukraine has surpassed EUR 1.8 billion, a Polish government official said on Monday.

Michał Dworczyk, chief of staff to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, revealed the figure in a radio interview, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Dworczyk told private broadcaster Radio Plus: “the value of Polish military aid to Ukraine is steadily growing.”

“As of today it totals more than EUR 1.8 billion,” the official added.

Dworczyk also stated: “We are Europe's biggest donor of military assistance to Ukraine. Globally, we are second behind the United States.”

In late April, the government said the value of military support for Ukraine was approaching PLN 7 billion (EUR 1.53 billion).
