Polish "container town" opens near Ukraine's capital

The units will be used to shelter 352 people who have lost their homes as a result of the Russian aggression of Ukraine.

The Vasylkiv "container town" is part of a larger initiative to provide serveral "container towns" by Poland.

The units have been established by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland and the Polish Government Strategic Reserves Agency in cooperation with the Ukrainian Ministry of Regional Development.

Nearly 7.8 million people have left Ukraine and almost 7 million are internally displaced within the country, according to data by the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
