Sikorski stressed that such an outcome would be disastrous not only for Kyiv but also for Ukraine's neighbors, Europe, and the entire US alliance system.

"We are trying to stop an aggressive dictator who seeks to rebuild an outdated European empire," Sikorski said during the interview with Christiane Amanpour. He highlighted the need for the U.S. Congress to swiftly pass regulations to continue financial support for the Ukrainian army, asserting that "Ukrainians need to be given the tools they need to do their job. And they are doing a great job. They have destroyed half of the Russian army for a few percent of the annual US defense budget."

Sikorski underscored the urgency and significance of supporting Ukraine, stating, "The cost of stopping Putin after he conquers Ukraine will be much, much higher than the cost of supporting Ukraine."

He also called for the provision of long-range missiles to Ukraine and advocated for tighter sanctions against Russia in response to recent mass strikes against Ukrainian cities. The provision of such military aid is seen as crucial in enabling Ukraine to target launch sites and command centers used by Russia in its aggression against Ukraine.
