Independent outlet Mediazona first reported the gifts, handed out in the northwestern Murmansk region for International Women’s Day as part of a “Flowers for Mothers of Heroes” campaign.
Photos circulated on social media also showed grills and bread makers among the presents.
Critics slammed the choice of meat grinders, citing Russia’s wartime strategy of overwhelming the enemy with sheer troop numbers—often at the cost of severe casualties.
Organizers countered that one mother specifically requested the appliance, urging people “not to promote inhumane interpretations.”
The party insists it provides “respectful and understanding” support to military families.
