Obama arrived in Poland on Wednesday, staying overnight in Poznań under the protection of the U.S. Secret Service. Local media report that Obama attended a private dinner with guests ahead of Thursday’s appearance.

His one-hour conversation with Professor Timothy Snyder, a renowned expert on Central Europe, will be a key highlight of the event.

Impact 2025, one of the region’s largest business and technology conferences, is held under the patronage of Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is also promoting its network of Polish Institutes abroad.

“Diplomacy is Poland’s first line of defence, and cultural diplomacy is part of our soft power,” Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said on social media, encouraging visitors to explore the ministry’s exhibition at the venue.

Speakers at the conference’s opening day included Polish Nobel laureate Olga Tokarczuk, U.S. climate envoy John Kerry, psychiatrist and author Anna Lembke, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, and InPost CEO Rafał Brzoska - head of a major Polish logistics company known for its nationwide network of parcel lockers.

Last year’s edition of Impact featured Michelle Obama, the former U.S. First Lady.

New ideas, innovative projects and the best networking defined the opening day of Central and Eastern Europe's leading business event, celebrating its 10th anniversary.
