Poland’s Research and Academic Computer Network (NASK), the country’s official cybersecurity body, has identified evidence of foreign interference in the ongoing presidential campaign, according to reports by TVN24Demagog, and Wirtualne Media.

One of the key players is CitizenGO, a Spain-based ultra-conservative organization with documented ties to Russia.

NASK investigators found that the group was involved in promoting Karol Nawrocki - backed by the right-wing populist Law and Justice party (PiS) - as well as previously supporting controversial far-right figures like Sławomir Mentzen and Grzegorz Braun.

Despite confirming the foreign activity, NASK has refused to release its full report to the public, drawing criticism from independent fact-checkers such as Demagog, who argue that transparency is vital given the scale of the operation - costing nearly half a million złoty (€117,875.00).

At a press conference on Wednesday, politicians from the right-wing opposition populist party PiS responded to the revelations by criticising the “leak” of the findings to TVN24.

NASK also announced that it is preparing further analyses on election-related disinformation for Poland’s Ministry of Digital Affairs, with a comprehensive report expected in June, according to the Polish state news agency PAP.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Thursday he has extended the country's heghtened security alerts in response to growing hybrid and cyber threats from Russia and Belarus, vowing to counter increasing foreign inteference in Poland's electoral process.
