No Polish citizens on board Air India jet that crashed in Ahmedabad

Poland’s Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that no Polish nationals were listed among the 242 passengers and crew on an Air India Dreamliner that crashed earlier in the day in Ahmedabad, western India.

Ministry spokesman Paweł Wroński told the Polish Press Agency the information came from Poland’s consulate in India after officials reviewed the airline’s manifest.

Flight AI171 had been bound for London’s Gatwick Airport when it went down near the Gujarat state capital, Indian police said. There was no immediate word on casualties.
