According to the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Abu Dhabi (the capital of the United Arab Emirates), travellers should expect possible air travel disruptions, including flight cancellations, due to the political situation in the region.
“We urge you to regularly follow updates from local authorities, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Polish diplomatic missions. All travellers to the region are asked to register with the Odyseusz system available on the Foreign Ministry’s website,” the diplomats said via social media.
“In light of rising tensions in the Middle East, we advise limiting all non-essential travel to countries in the region, including the United Arab Emirates,” the embassy added in an official statement.
Earlier, it was announced that due to rising tensions in the Middle East, non-essential travel to countries in the region - including the United Arab Emirates - is strongly discouraged.
Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns that heightened caution is advised in Saudi Arabia near the Yemeni border - especially in the provinces of Jizan, Najran, and Asir - as well as close to the Iraqi frontier.
Similar travel warnings also apply to trips to Oman and Qatar.
The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha issued a statement on Sunday, 22 June, advising that travel to Qatar should be limited to essential purposes only. It added that those planning to visit or transit through the country should consider postponing their plans until the situation in the region significantly de-escalates and stabilizes.
