The agreement was signed on Thursday, 31 July 2025, in the presence of Deputy Defence Minister Paweł Bejda.

“If we look at our land and armoured forces, Poland is becoming a truly powerful military player in Europe and a significant NATO member - not just in Europe, but globally,” Deputy Minister Bejda said following the signing.

The ABVs - armoured engineering vehicles built on the chassis of Abrams tanks - are part of an amendment to a broader contract originally signed in January 2023 for the purchase of Abrams main battle tanks.

The updated agreement also includes spare parts, logistics support, and training packages. The vehicles are scheduled to be delivered in 2029.
