Russia's aggression a test for UN’s credibility: Polish president

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday, Poland’s president Karol Nawrocki warned that Russia's war in Ukraine poses a critical test of whether the UN can uphold its founding values.

He argued that the world is at a turning point in history with the current international order crumbling and the world entering a dangerous phase of the rivalry of great powers, breaking the rules and testing how far one can go.

“National borders have in effect ceased to be inviolable, and international law - once regarded as the compass of global order - is increasingly treated as a suggestion rather than a rule”, Nawrocki said.
