"I'm absolutely thrilled to be in Poland and can't wait to meet you all very soon," said Thomas Rose in a video posted on the U.S. Embassy's account on the social media platform X.

In the short video, Rose is first seen laying flowers at the Warsaw Uprising Monument, honouring those who fought against Nazi occupation in 1944. The footage then cuts to Castle Square, where he greets viewers in Polish – “Dzień dobry, cześć!” (“Good morning, hi!”) – while standing in front of Sigismund’s Column, one of Warsaw’s best-known landmarks.

“I stand here today in the heart of Warsaw as the representative of my great president, Donald Trump, and the American people,” he said. “I’m absolutely thrilled to be in Poland and can’t wait to meet you all very soon,” he added.

Thomas Rose, a conservative commentator and former adviser to Vice President Mike Pence, has a long background in journalism and politics. He previously served as editor of the Jerusalem Post and worked in state government in Indiana, his home state. During his Senate hearing, he praised Poland as a “model ally” and said he would work to improve relations with Israel.

The diplomat has been known for his strong support of Israel and criticism of liberal politics, describing himself on X as a “not-so-secret agent of the Judeo-Christian MAGA conspiracy.” His nomination did not receive broad bipartisan backing in the Senate, unlike those of his predecessors Mark Brzezinski and Georgette Mosbacher.
