Speaking after Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent warning that Russia is ready if Europe “wants war,” the Polish top diplomat said Moscow is already engaging in acts of sabotage, citing attacks in Poland targeting civilians.

“We must strengthen our resilience against Russia’s hybrid warfare. Russia is escalating, and we need solidarity as well as a realistic assessment of its intentions, which are far from benign,” Sikorski said.

He also stressed the importance of sharing intelligence with allies on sabotage and subversion, and reiterated his call to limit the movement of Russian diplomats across the EU to hinder potential espionage.

Posting a video of the opening of the EU foreign ministers’ talks on social media, Sikorski again urged: “Nothing about our security without us.”

Ahead of the summit, it was announced that Poland, together with Germany and Norway, will contribute $500 million to a US weapons programme for Ukraine.

“We hope America will notice this,” Sikorski added.
