“Poland alone fends off up to 4,000 cyber attacks per day and each of these aggressive actions is of course accompanied by a tsunami of disinformation designed to polarize our societies,” Sikorski told the OSCE gathering on Thursday.
Poland's top diplomat added that Russia’s actions against Ukraine and the European Union undermine the fundamental rules of the OSCE: “All of these hostile acts against Ukraine and against the European Union violate the rules of this organization and compliance with these rules should be a necessary condition for retaining one's seat.”
The minister warned that the OSCE should not become a platform for imperial ambitions: “This magnificent hall should not be a place for the sick ambitions of those who want to rebuild an evil empire.”
Foreign ministry spokesperson Maciej Wewiór, responding to the speech, said Poland is targeted not only by cyber intrusions but also by sabotage attempts and orchestrated disinformation campaigns.
The goal, he said, is to erode public trust and weaken Poland from within.
“There is no return of the evil empire,” Wewiór added, dismissing pro-Kremlin narratives claiming the war in Ukraine is “not our war.”
