Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski, Poland’s top diplomat, highlighted the advisory on Tuesday, just ahead of Christmas Eve, which this year is observed as a public holiday in Poland for the first time.
Earlier, the foreign affairs office had appealed to those planning festive travel abroad to prioritise their own safety and that of their families.
Travellers were advised to register their plans through the Odyseusz system, which enables consular services to contact them in the event of an emergency, and to follow official government guidance before and during their trips.
Now, Sikorski shared a list of countries where Polish citizens face the highest levels of risk.
The destinations include Afghanistan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Iran, Israel, Yemen, North Korea, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, Niger, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, and Venezuela.
The ministry stressed that travel to these countries should be avoided for any purpose, including both professional duties and urgent family matters.
