Polish and French FMs hold talks on security and defence

The talks between the Polish and French foreign ministers took place a day after the Weimar Triangle foreign ministers’ session.

As reported on 8 January by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski met on Thursday with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.

Their discussions focused on the implementation of the Treaty of Nancy, as well as cooperation in the fields of security, defence, and nuclear energy.

The day before, on Wednesday, Poland, France, and Germany met in Paris for a Weimar Triangle foreign ministers’ meeting, joined by their Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

The officials covered the ongoing war in Ukraine, relations with the United States, and broader security issues in the Indo-Pacific region.
