Iranian drones struck the U.S. embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s defense ministry said, prompting President Donald Trump to warn of retaliation for the attack and for U.S. troops killed in the operation against Iran.
Trump said that it will very soon be clear what the U.S. retaliation will be for the attack on the American embassy and the fallen U.S. soldiers. U.S. Central Command said six U.S. service members have been killed so far in the operation against Iran and at least 18 wounded.

At least two drones hit the embassy compound, the Saudi defense ministry said, adding that a small fire broke out. There was no immediate information on casualties.

Trump told NewsNation that it will “very soon” be clear what the U.S. retaliation will be for the attack on the American embassy and the fallen U.S. soldiers. U.S. Central Command said six U.S. service members have been killed so far in the operation against Iran and at least 18 wounded.

CNN earlier reported that the U.S. embassy in Kuwait was hit twice during Iranian bombardment on Sunday and Monday, and that the U.S. embassy in Jordan was evacuated over safety concerns.

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance told Fox News that what happens to Iran’s regime is secondary to the main goal of preventing Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons. He also said the war would not become a multi-year conflict like Iraq or Afghanistan, adding that Trump “will not allow his country into a war without a clearly defined goal.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu struck a similar note, telling Fox News the U.S.-Israeli operation against Iran would be “a quick and decisive action, not a never-ending war,” and saying he did not need to persuade Trump to strike Iran.

Israel’s military said overnight Monday into Tuesday it carried out strikes on the IRIB state broadcaster complex in Tehran. Israel has also been conducting air strikes since Monday against Hezbollah in Lebanon, saying on Tuesday it was attacking Hezbollah command centers and weapons depots in Beirut.

Lebanon’s government said 52 people were killed and 154 wounded in the Israeli strikes, while Israel’s military said more than 70 Hezbollah targets had been hit. It also said sites attributed to Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Lebanon were struck, and that Adham Adnan al-Otman, described as the commander of the group’s military wing, was killed.

Iran has been attacking targets in Gulf states as well as in Jordan and Israel since Saturday, in response to what the U.S. has dubbed “Operation Epic Fury” and Israel “Roaring Lion”. The continued attacks have forced widespread flight cancellations and left thousands of passengers changing plans or waiting for airports to reopen, the Associated Press reported, adding that 2,000 South Korean citizens were stranded in Dubai.

Iranian drone strikes have also hit U.S. bases in the region, as well as civilian airports and hotels, the report said, adding that debris sparked a fire on Sunday outside a five-star hotel in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah district.
