"More than 400 enemy drones headed toward the Moscow region. Most were neutralized by air defense forces while still far from the city. Eighty-five were destroyed as they approached Moscow", Sobyanin wrote on Telegram.

A hospital in Domodedovo, outside Moscow, said it had admitted six people injured in explosions, though it did not confirm whether the injuries were linked to the drone attack. Domodedovo is home to one of the capital's international airports.

Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported damage in Domodedovo, Podolsk and Odintsovo, including to private homes and civilian infrastructure. One person was injured in a house fire and another on a highway, he said.

The attack came after Kyiv was struck by intense Russian missile fire overnight Saturday into Sunday, killing one person and wounding 16, AFP reported.
