"I've had good talks with him. He's not going to be attacking a NATO territory," Trump told reporters when asked whether Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed not to do so.
Asked about reports that Ratcliffe had warned Russia against striking the alliance during his Tuesday visit, Trump declined to comment directly but repeated that "they are not going to attack."
The CIA director made an unannounced, several-hour trip to Moscow on Tuesday.
The Wall Street Journal and Politico reported that he had specifically warned Russia against targeting the Baltic states, citing US intelligence assessments suggesting Moscow could be weighing such a move.
In an interview with American news outlet Axios, Trump said Ratcliffe had not delivered any such warning.
"I am not concerned ... at all. There is no problem," the president replied when asked about the possibility of Russian provocation against NATO states.
Trump described Ratcliffe's trip as "standard business," adding he was surprised by the media coverage.
"Ratcliffe sees his Russian counterpart once every six months or once every year. They have a very good relationship. There was no message and there was nothing unusual," Trump told Axios.
