1,200 kg of the drugs, which could have been used to make 2.5 million individual doses, have been discovered in courier parcels, according to Poland’s Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP).
Police said on Monday that 335 tonnes of the drug with a street value of over EUR 21 million could have been smuggled on a route running from China through Lithuania and Poland to western and southern parts of Europe.
Four suspects have been detained, two of whom are citizens of the Netherlands, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s news agency IAR reported.
