The tvp.info website quoted Ukraine's Dmytro Kuleba as saying on Sunday that almost 20,000 military volunteers from 52 countries were on their way to Ukraine to help it in the fight against Russia.

The report came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last week announced the establishment of an "international legion" made up of volunteer fighters, according to tvp.info.

The foreign legion is expected to operate as part of Ukraine's territorial defence force, the Polish website reported.
