Senior Russian Army officer killed in Ukraine: officials

Lieutenant Colonel Youri Agarkov is the latest high-ranking Russian officer to be killed in fighting in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced on Wednesday.

Agarkov was the commander of the Russian National Guard’s 33rd motorised rifles regiment, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.

“The morning begins with good news. The number of Russia’s high-ranking commanders to be liquidated is growing. Here’s another one,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces tweeted, posting a picture of Agarkov.

Wednesday is day fourteen of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24.
