Setback for Ukraine

Delay in hi-tech long-range bombs from US - bombs which should ultimately enable Ukraine to push Russian forces back.

The United States has delayed a planned the shipment of hi-tech bombs to Ukraine. The bombs, called Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bombs (GLSDB), are known for their capability to hit targets nearly 160 kilometres away.

Ukraine will receive GLSDB cruise bombs from the US next year, although the delivery was supposed to be this fall, Reuters.

As the publication writes, our country has not yet received a single such bomb.

They are strategically significant in being potentially able to push back Russian forces more effectively than the currently used and also US-supplied High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS).
