Trump tells Russia’s Medvedev to ‘watch his words’ after war remark

US President Donald Trump on Thursday warned former Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev that he is “entering very dangerous territory” by suggesting possible war with the United States.

Trump told Medvedev to “watch his words,” saying the former Russian president was “entering very dangerous territory” by raising the prospect of conflict between the two countries.

“Russia and the USA do almost no business together. Let’s keep it that way,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, calling Medvedev a “failed former President of Russia, who thinks he’s still President.”

Medvedev, now deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, said on Monday on platform X that Trump’s August 8 deadline for Moscow to move toward ending its war in Ukraine was an “ultimatum game” that could spark war with the United States.

“Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war,” Medvedev wrote. “Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country.”
