“The Polish state will stand firmly behind every female and male officer and will not allow them to be insulted or intimidated. Thanks to these people, the integrity of our border is currently assessed at 98%,” Kierwiński stressed during a joint press conference with Waldemar Żurek, the new Minister of Justice who recently replaced Adam Bodnar.

Kierwiński reminded that temporary border controls between Poland and Germany, as well as with Lithuania, have been extended until 4 October.

Poland’s border security strengthened through coordinated efforts against hybrid threats

“Our borders are secure and Poles have nothing to fear. We have introduced measures that facilitate the work of the Border Guard and effectively counter the hybrid war, including the possibility of temporarily suspending the right to asylum,” the head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration noted.

“We are here today in Western Pomerania to emphasize that the security of our borders is the result of cooperation between all services – both uniformed officers and those working behind the scenes, such as prosecutors. Effective border protection and a firm response from the prosecutor’s office to irregularities form the foundation of safety for all Polish women and men,” the politician said during a media statement.

Poland leads Europe with strict asylum and migration policies

Earlier, Minister Kierwiński, together with Minister Żurek and Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk, who specialises in migration issues, took part in the conference “Security at the Border.”

During the event, they emphasised the continued joint efforts of the services and the prosecutor’s office in fighting human smuggling and other illegal activities at the border. They also highlighted that Poland was the first country to introduce strict asylum rules and migration solutions.
