China appoints Lu Shan as new ambassador to Poland

The Chinese Embassy in Warsaw announced that Lu Shan, China’s new ambassador to Poland, arrived in the country on Wednesday, August 20, to take up his post as Beijing’s 21st envoy to Warsaw.

Lu Shan is a career diplomat with extensive experience in foreign affairs.

From 2022 to June 2025, he was involved in China’s diplomacy in Burkina Faso, located in West Africa. 

Previously, he served as director of the Department of European Affairs at China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he also worked on cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries.

The appointment follows the departure of Sun Linjiang, who was named China’s special representative for Eurasian affairs in June.
