On his first official visit to Germany since taking office, President Nawrocki was accompanied by senior officials, including State Secretary Marcin Przydacz and Deputy Foreign Minister Teofil Bartoszewski.
Talks in Berlin are expected to focus on security cooperation, European Union affairs, transatlantic relations and bilateral ties, as well as the issue of reparations for crimes committed by Nazi Germany during the Second World War.
President Nawrocki will sign the guest book before holding one-on-one talks with President Steinmeier, followed by plenary discussions between the two delegations.
According to the Polish state news agency PAP, Nawrocki is set to press for WWII reparations, the return of cultural property and compensation payments.

On Tuesday morning, Nawrocki is also due to meet German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at the Chancellery, beginning with private talks and followed by broader discussions.
After concluding his visit in Berlin, the Polish president will travel to Paris for talks with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Deputy Foreign Minister Bartoszewski noted that the visits to Germany and France - Poland’s close allies - come shortly after a Russian drone attack on Polish territory, making NATO preparedness and security key items on the agenda.
