During a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in New York, Trump was asked whether NATO forces should shoot down Russian aircraft that enter the alliance’s airspace. He replied simply: “Yes, I do.”
Sikorski responded on X (formerly Twitter) with the short military phrase: “Roger that,” which signals acknowledgment of an order or message and can be interpreted as “understood” or “noted.”
Earlier, speaking at a United Nations Security Council session, Sikorski referred to a recent incursion by Russian fighters into Estonian airspace.
Poland's top diplomat cautioned: “I have only one request to the Russian government: If another missile or aircraft enters our space without permission, deliberately or by mistake, and gets shot down and the wreckage falls on NATO territory, please don't come here to whine about it. You have been warned.”
