EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas also attended, while Ukraine’s Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal joined remotely.

The talks focused on European security and support for Ukraine, as well as cooperation on armaments and military interoperability.

The E5, launched last year by German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, aims to strengthen coordination on defence issues among participating countries.

Previous meetings in Warsaw and London addressed regional security concerns, including Russia’s violation of Polish airspace in September.

Hybrid threats cannot be accepted as new normal, EU's Kallas says

The European Union will continue work to protect itself against hybrid threats, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said.

Speaking to reporters after the E5 meeting, she stressed that hybrid threats cannot be accepted "as the new normal."
