The phone call also covered the regional security situation and key bilateral issues, according to a ministry statement.

Sikorski and Sybiha discussed continued support for Kyiv, including Ukraine’s integration with the European Union, as well as sensitive bilateral matters such as ongoing search and exhumation work, the ministry said.

The conversation followed a series of high-level diplomatic contacts focused on ending the war.

Earlier this week, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk took part in talks with European leaders, Canada’s prime minister, NATO’s secretary-general and EU officials, after which he said peace was "on the horizon" but would require close coordination among allies.

Separately, US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met in Florida on Sunday to discuss efforts to end the conflict, followed by a video call with European leaders, while Tusk and other EU and NATO leaders stressed the need for concrete and credible security guarantees for Ukraine.
